Mother's Day

Today was a great Mother's Day! We started out with baby dedication. Each year, on Mother's Day, they dedicate all baby's born in the previous year. Since our church practices believers baptism we don't do that as part of the day. This is a time to recognize families that have had a new baby and want to commit to raise that baby in a Christian home. It's also a time for our church family to commit to hold us accountable and help us through this adventure of parenthood. Kirby is older than most babies since he missed Mother's Day last year by a couple of weeks. Our church has also had a major baby boom (and continues to now that many families are on to baby #2) so they had to start holding a second dedication day in December, although we missed that one while Stan was in China. Anyway, Kirby and another baby had there day today.

Kirby was cute and sweet at first. But like a typical one-year-old he very soon became restless and curious about what was on the pulpit and on stage.

He was particularly entertaining during the prayer. He wanted to hold the New Testament that the church gave him so I gave the lid to the little box to keep him occupied. During the prayer he dropped it and then kept looking down and trying to get it. Kirby had us and the Children's Pastor trying to stifle laughter and remain reverent. Oh well, I think some people in the congregation got a laugh at him too.

After Church we took Grommy to lunch. Kirby had a great time getting one of his favorites, Spaghetti, all over his nice white and blue outfit. He needed a whole body bib. Praise the Lord for Shout. When we got home we all went right down for a nap and grommy drove home. The rest of the day was spent napping and relaxing. It was great!

Here are some picture of Dimei from Friday. Thank you Papa-razzi for scanning them for us. :)
