A Fun (and busy) Day

OK, I know that Lora put this picture up on her blog but I had to have it on mine too. We had a great day on Saturday. We left home by 8:30 and drove to Eliza's place in Charlotte. There we got to hang out with the SW aunties and cousins. This picture is Katie with Lily, Leah with Kirby and Caiti with Sam. The mommies were all enjoying a break on the couch.

Kirby and Sam had some play time together. It's funny because they are both at the age where they hardly notice each other. Kirby was definitely more interested in Leslie and Sam was enthralled with Eliza. They did, however, bang on the table at the same time. In another year or so I'm sure they will be great playmates. :) And Kirby was making his move towards Lily a couple of times, probably to try to grab her face.

This is what Kirby looked like by the time we were leaving. He fell asleep on Stan and was acting quiet all of the sudden. When we got to my dad's house he had a temp of 103. This started off a wonderful evening of him not feeling so great. He's actually still running a fever but has never had any other symptoms. He is finally acting much more like himself.
Unfortunately for Kirby (because he was feeling bad, not because he didn't want to see everyone) it was off from one get together and on to another. We left Eliza's and when to Papa John's (my dad) for a Whitesell/Fields celebration. We celebrated all the birthday's for the year. J got a Spider Man cake and added up all the ages of everyone there and had candles for that. Together we will all be 765 this year. We are an old family. :)

This is the cake that Grommy made for Kirby since he can't have the good stuff. No milk for Kirby so he had carrot cake and cream cheese 'flavored' icing--it really wasn't bad even if it wasn't the real thing. When we were singing to him he looked at us with those big eyes, not quite knowing what to think. Even though he looks like he's in his birthday suit he actually has on a diaper. Which proved to be a smart choice since he got icing all over himself.
He had fun with the fork. He still doesn't really use it but he sure had a great time waving it around. By the end he had blue and red all over him. He ended doing much more playing than eating. Stan had to wash all the cake off, drain the tub and then give him a real bath.

Oh my goodness!! 103?? Poor Kirby! But I think he got over it when he saw that yummy cake - he looks pretty happy!

Poor Lily is sick too! Although her fever has not topped 100 yet, she is home sick today too :)

Is Kirby feeling better?
