On June 29th we left Raleigh and headed out on our adventure. Our first leg was to JFK, we had some delays leaving RDU because of weather and then once we got to JFK we sat waiting for almost an hour to cross the runway and get to our gate. When we got off the plane we had 5 minutes until our connection to Hong Kong was to leave. We made a run for it and got to security only to be stopped, since we didn't have a boarding pass. Now at 11:00 pm, there are very few people working at the check in desks. We found one person working for British Airways that called the desk of our gate--only after they called for us over the loud speaker. So he called and our flight was delayed for an hour so some one from our airline, Cathay Pacific, came down and brought us some boarding passes and we made it through security and to the gate with plenty of time. We finally took off from JFK by about 12:30 am. Our flight was to Hong Kong with a stop in Vancouver. JFK to Vancouver was about 5 hours (we think, it has become a blur) and then we got off the plane for about an hour--a nice break to really walk around and freshen up--and then the trip from Vancouver to HK was 12 hours. It was nice cause both times I've been before the long flight was detroit to Japan and it's even longer. Because of our issues in JFK when we got to HK we found out our 11 bags didn't make the flight and were still in NY. A little disappointing but we knew there was no use getting upset cause it wouldn't change anything. So we just got on our next flight to the capital of our province where we would meet up with friends and take a bus to our new city. The rest of our trip was pretty uneventful. The boys slept on and off through all the flights. Stan and I each got a small nap but couldn't really sleep cause we were dealing with one boy or another. We were so thankful that our plane had the individual movie screens for each seat and it was like movies on demand. We each watched at least 4 movies and several TV shows. At least we were entertained. Once we got to our Province we got on a bus for a 4 hour ride to our city. Finally that evening we made it to our new home.

Kirby stayed awake on the bus as long as he could, he finally couldn't hold his eyes open much longer. I started nodding off too.

Kirby looks sooo long in that stroller (and so rockstarish).
The cheese video is ADORABLE!! Bennett is speaking so well now. I would love to just sit there and try to figure out what he is saying.
it looks like they've got a little more style since we were there in 2000. I think if you read closely the girls bag says "kiss me before sha ng nag"???? oh how i miss their funny interpretations.
I feel your pain!!!! At least you landed during the day. We landed at night and couldn't see anything!!! I'm glad to see you got there!
